mason loves playing in mommy's make-up :)
Hey, all! May is going to be a busy month for us...here's a few upcoming events in the hodges house :)
may 11th...granny and grandpa arrive for a few weeks...(or longer?) :)
may 12th...mason and ryan's baby dedication/mother's day!!!
may 14th...our baby turns ONE
may 18th...Mason's party
may 24th...shannon here for the weekend! :)
this is one exciting month coming up, a busy one at that. I feel like once granny and grandpa get here i'm not going to have much time to blog about everything (i will in time hopefully sooner than later) but for now, i have to just say, i had my first "mason's almost ONE meltdown"
We were sitting having lunch, just mase and i and i was telling him all that was going to be happening next weekend, and what it meant to be 'dedicated', etc. and i started thinking, oh my word, i can't believe a year of his life has gone by already. and now the tears just won't stop flowing, it's exciting, crazy, a bit sad, even more exciting, a whirwind, the best year of our life! Mason leaned his head towards me and when he does that it's his way of saying he wants to snuggle, so i put my head up to his and he became dead weight on my cheek. I never thought there could be so much joy overflowing in our hearts.
I just am so thankful for Mason's life and that God blessed us with such an incredible little boy. He's got the kindest heart, the sweetest snuggles, the biggest laughs, the best kisses, the fattest thighs I've ever seen, the most pinchable cheeks, biggest blue eyes, his daddy's layed back attitude, the shyest little smirk...i really could go on and on. We feel so incredibly blessed to have Mason Isaac in our lives. We can't imagine it without him, and we are completely dumbfounded that an entire year has passed us by. We're trying SO hard to capture and enjoy EVERY moment, because they just aren't little forever, which breaks mommy's heart at this moment in time.
Mason,
You have made mommy the proudest I've ever been. Thank you for giving us such an amazing year by coming into our lives. You have my heart in your swollen little hands and I love watching you grow. I can't believe you're almost one year old...and I know you won't be a baby forever, but in the mean time, I am going to take advantage of all your snuggles and drooly kisses because time is going way too fast. Your daddy and I love you with all of our hearts and would do anything for you. I pray everyday that you grow up to love Jesus and that daddy and i do all we can to show you how to live for Him. Happy early birthday, buddy.
I love you, Mason Isaac. Mommy

You make me cry, sweet Jess! :) I want you to know that I have appreciated your messages SO MUCH the last couple weeks. Things have been nuts around here lately, (Cam, Joel and I are all home with the stomach flu today...YUK!) but are starting to return to normal. I love hearing your voice leave me a message, though! You're always in my heart and we think of you each day! Give Mason some love for us!
