Still praising Jesus today that he was in the care he was at Phoenix Children's Hospital as this was an incident that if hadn't been handled when it was and the way in which it was could've cost him his life. Through the worst of his sickness, the old hymn, "trust and obey" played through my head. As we'd cry Jesus was reminding us...to trust in Him, that Cash is His and was in His hands...although things felt so out of control, Jesus was holding not only Cash in his hands, but us as well. The moments of peace He would bring through these couple of weeks was what got us through. We love you, Cash Isaiah! So happy this was just a little blip in the radar of your energetic, fun-loving life. You are one STRONG boy!
all checked in to hospital and on some morphine, before his surgery...finally getting some sleep.
in his room with all his IV's, still before surgery.
ry ry coming to see him before he goes into surgery, his little face looks so sickly :(
right out of surgery, in recovery...so happy to be on our way to getting better!
sweet Cash wanted Daddy within reach the entire time. If he'd wake up in pain, to know his Daddy was there would instantly calm him down. He often feel asleep clinging onto Brent's neck.
playing with some stickers during his first time to sit up...his little pic line in his right arm stayed in his arm for the next 9 days or so sending antibiotics right to his heart.
more snuggles with daddy...
starting to feel better!! Playing...makes our hearts SO happy! Cash is so skinny!
had to put this one in of Marli...her thoughts..."Cash is sick? I've been having a blast at Grams and Pops' and with Aunt Mara & Unlce Zach!"
browsing through the gift shop ;)
leaving the hospital!!! The happiest day!!!
We came back about 10 weeks later for his actual appendectomy. With little ones, it's more dangerous to remove the ruptured appendix right away. So the first surgery drained his infection that had formed from the rupturing of his appendix. After 9 days with his pic line of antibiotics and lots of recovery time we headed home from the hospital. Cash slowly started gaining his strength back and began to act like himself again. The second surgery seemed like a piece of cake as we were in and out in 2 days and he was back up and running hardly no time later.
Dear Jesus, Thank you for always being the one in control of our lives. Even when things may feel they're spinning out of control and in uncertain times. Your peace and strength are our lifeline. We thank you daily for healing Cash in the way you did...and for the calm through the storm only you can bring. We serve a mighty mighty God. We love you. Amen
