Our First "Meet the Teacher"

As Kindergarten was rapidly approaching, Mason's excitement grew stronger and stronger...where as Mommy was getting more and more nervous. :) We decided to enroll Mason at Archway (a Greathearts charter school which we had heard amazing things about). Our biggest reasoning in enrolling him at this charter school initially was because it was half-day kindergarten, where as now all of the public schools are still full day. However, the more we learned of the school, the more fond of it we have grown. I know they are very academically driven which is excellent but they are also incredibly intentional in how they discipline and run their school; very driven by character. Developing children with great character, sweet hearts making good choices, virtues which are immeasurable in our opinion are a priority at this school as well which makes me very happy. So as we got Mase all dressed in his uniform to meet his teacher, we knew there was a 1 in 3 chance our close friend, Shelley Smith may be the aide in his class. So we were hopeful but tried not to get too excited just to be safe. :) Mase was so super excited as we walked into the school trying to find his classroom, and his teacher, etc. Once we found his room we walked in to see Miss Shelley was his aide!!! :) Mason's excitement became even greater and suddenly so many of my worries, anxieties flew right out of the window. I was very excited as well...and felt WAY less nervous. I knew he'd be fine either way, and he's been so excited ready but just knowing my sweet friend is his teacher made it SOO much easier!!! :) SO we walked all around his room, found his desk, met his very sweet teacher Mrs. Dusard and took some pictures. He was so pumped to be in Kindergarten and Mommy and Daddy were so excited for him!!! We enjoyed a fun dinner with our sweet family after to celebrate our big school boy...and a few short days later Kindergarten began. Here are a few pictures from open house night! :) The very first of so many to come!!

Here's to a great first year of school!!!! :)
