a new beginning...

this blog is going to seem misplaced because it is not dedicated to the little man, but stick with me...i have recently accepted a new position offered to me by our awesome church. ryan, our adult ministries pastor at palm valley, asked me to go to coffee with him roughly two weeks ago and told me of the opportunity to join the staff. as most of you know, i have been a pe teacher for the last three years and i have enjoyed every minute of it...well, minus the time i had to deal with the dept. of ed. i mean honestly what can be better than teaching kids how to play games! however, after being offered the postition jess and i began seeking what god's will would be for us in this awesome opportunity. and it turns out that there is something much better...serving the lord in full-time ministry!

for those of you who do not know, jess and i feel that we've been led to the most incredible church in the world...and when it came down to it...who wouldn't want to be a part of something heading in the right direction...fulfilling christ's comission to the church. and as an added bonus...mason, yes i just took the blog back to him, so i guess it isn't misplaced...mason gets to grow up in a church where god is a fun god, a loving god, a god that you want to tell your friends about! jess and i have never felt more blessed than to be able to be a part of this church...and now we get to serve god in a whole new way...as a full-time staff member! for those of you wondering what it is that i will be doing...my official title is the pastor of connection ministries...although i believe the mantra around here is "whatever it takes." and to be honest, i've never been more excited to give to god "whatever it takes" to make the vision of palm valley alive!
